FOFB trip to North Wales Flintshire

#1 by Ian , Wed Aug 10, 2011 6:39 pm

This will be the first F.O.F.B. meet in North Wales, at the Blue Bell ( http://www.bluebell.uk.eu.org/ ) Halkyn, Flintshire. From 13:00 onwards on 17th September 2011.

A fun packed day including a talk on the local A.O.F.B. by David Rowe ( approx 14:00 ) followed by a chance to peruse the collected memorabilia of several die hard F.O.F.B.s . There will be a barbeque, a local jazz band and a specially brewed Frothblowers Ale, by local brewer Facers. There will also be a raffle and a auction with lots of A.O.F.B. interest.

This is a charity fundraising event benefitting a local childrens charity - which is what the Froth Blowers was all about - Tŷ Gobaith Hospice ( Hope House ) [ http://www.hopehouse.org.uk/en/about-us/...baith/index.php ]

Hope people can make it.

Ian.

Great pictures Frothy - and a great day out - and Hope House ( Ty Gobaith ) will benefit with the monies raised, nearly £820 on the day and a promise to fund match too - from a well known High Street Bank - so all in , in excess of of £1600 .
David Rowe, Sue Phillips and publican Steve Marquis worked hard to mark it a success not forgetting the MC and Chairman for the day, Malcolm.
Malcolm was a natural and he did well with the auction of AOFB cufflinks and A Membership book.

Yes, great video and pictures Frothy.
It really was a good day, a great effort by all concerned, it gives me a good feeling
knowing that the hospice will be better off by such an amount.

I hope they do Frothy, especially the amount of money raised.
Wouldn't it be nice to do the same thing for somewhere closer to home as well

We would love to do another one as it was so successful for the kids hospice.
Thinking caps on for a suitable time next year would be good. How about in the Summer or was Sept OK?
If anyone has facebook and have posted pictures, could they tag the Blue Bell Inn please (www.facebook.com/100000790076887)?
Many thanks again for the fabulous turn-out making a fun event absolutely stunning!
Best Regards
Steve Marquis
