Contrary to lots of reports and supposition the AOFB was voluntarily wound up after the passing of it's two founders Bert Temple and Sir Alfred Fripp. Admittedly the Great Depression didn't help - but the aOFB was bought to a voluntary close.
Here's how it was reported in the London Gazette - number 33767 from 30th October 1931.
